Removable Orthodontics

Removable Orthodontics or Appliances

Removable Orthodotics are removable, retainer-like appliances that move teeth using various springs and attachements that create pressure and push or pull teeth into alignment. They can be fabricated from a variety of materials including metal, clear acrylic or a combination of the two.

In many case-selective instances, where the conditions are suitable, a patient may be able to use a removable orthodontic or retainer. The benefits of these devices is that they can be removed when you are eating, brushing/flossing or when you are in a situation where the retainer may make you feel self-conscious. Another benefit of these appliances is that regular personal oral hygiene is easier because you can remove the appliance during those procedures.
