Comfortable Dental Care — Even If You’re Anxious
From mild nitrous oxide to IV sedation administered by Dr. Stephen Ing, we offer every level of sedation so you can get the care you need — calmly and safely.
Dental Anxiety Shouldn’t Stop You from a Healthy Smile
Dental anxiety affects millions of Canadians and is one of the leading reasons people avoid necessary care. At Dentistry at Vitality Health, we take anxiety seriously and offer a full spectrum of sedation options to make every visit comfortable.
Whether you need a simple cleaning or a complex surgical procedure, our team — including Dr. Stephen Ing, who administers sedation at our Markham practice — will match the right level of sedation to your needs and medical history.
The Right Level of Comfort for You
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
MildInhaled through a small mask, nitrous oxide produces a relaxed, euphoric feeling within minutes. You remain fully conscious and can respond to instructions. Effects wear off quickly — you can drive yourself home.
Oral Sedation
ModerateA prescription sedative pill taken before your appointment produces a deeper state of relaxation. You’ll be drowsy but awake and able to respond. Most patients have little memory of the procedure.
IV Sedation
DeepAdministered intravenously by Dr. Stephen Ing, IV sedation produces a deeply relaxed, sleep-like state. You remain breathing on your own but will have no memory of the procedure. Vital signs are monitored throughout.
General Anaesthesia
GeneralFor complex oral surgery or patients who cannot tolerate any level of consciousness, general anaesthesia is available under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Ing in our fully equipped surgical suite.
Sedation May Be Right for You If You…
Monitored, Medically Supervised Sedation
All sedation at Dentistry at Vitality Health is administered and monitored by trained professionals. Dr. Stephen Ing oversees IV and general anaesthesia cases with full vital-sign monitoring throughout.
Before any sedation appointment, we conduct a thorough medical history review to ensure the chosen option is safe for you. We follow all Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) guidelines for sedation practice.
