Sedation Options

The Right Level of Comfort for You

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Mild

Inhaled through a small mask, nitrous oxide produces a relaxed, euphoric feeling within minutes. You remain fully conscious and can respond to instructions. Effects wear off quickly — you can drive yourself home.

Ideal for:Mild anxiety, short procedures, children

Oral Sedation

Moderate

A prescription sedative pill taken before your appointment produces a deeper state of relaxation. You’ll be drowsy but awake and able to respond. Most patients have little memory of the procedure.

Ideal for:Moderate anxiety, longer appointments

IV Sedation

Deep

Administered intravenously by Dr. Stephen Ing, IV sedation produces a deeply relaxed, sleep-like state. You remain breathing on your own but will have no memory of the procedure. Vital signs are monitored throughout.

Ideal for:Severe anxiety, complex or lengthy procedures, phobia

General Anaesthesia

General

For complex oral surgery or patients who cannot tolerate any level of consciousness, general anaesthesia is available under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Ing in our fully equipped surgical suite.

Ideal for:Oral surgery, special needs patients, extreme phobia
