What to expect when you come in
Arrival (10 minutes early). Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. You'll check in at our front desk, and our team will verify your insurance information and have you sign consent forms if you haven't already completed them online.
Medical History & Initial Consultation (15 minutes). One of our clinical team members will review your medical history, including medications, allergies, and previous dental treatment. We'll discuss why you're here, what your treatment goals are, and any concerns or anxieties you have. This information is essential—it helps us choose the right treatment approach and anesthesia options for you.
Examination & Assessment (20–30 minutes). Your dentist will conduct a thorough examination. This may include: visual inspection of your teeth and gums, X-rays or 3D imaging (CBCT) if needed, digital intraoral scans, and testing for decay, gum disease, or other issues. For new patients, this is a comprehensive assessment. We're not just looking at the tooth you came in for—we're evaluating your overall oral health.
Treatment Discussion (15 minutes). Your dentist will explain what they found, show you any imaging or scans, and discuss treatment options. We present the full range of solutions, from conservative to advanced, with clear explanations of benefits, costs, and timelines for each. You choose what feels right for your situation.
Treatment Plan & Estimate (10 minutes). If you're moving forward with treatment today, great. If you want time to decide or need to check insurance coverage, we'll provide a written treatment plan and cost estimate. We can often start treatment the same day for simple procedures, or schedule follow-up appointments for complex cases.
Treatment (time varies). If you're starting treatment on day one, we move directly into the clinical phase. We'll numb the area, explain each step as we go, and check in frequently to make sure you're comfortable. If you requested sedation, one of our dental anaesthetists will manage your comfort level throughout.
Wrap-Up (10 minutes). Before you leave, our team will review aftercare instructions, discuss any discomfort or sensitivity you might experience, schedule any follow-up appointments, and answer remaining questions.
